Parkland

Parkland is a tranquil city nestled in a serene, wooded environment in Northwest Broward county, Florida. It was incorporated in 1963 and currently has a population of approximately 25,000 people.  It consists of primarily residential neighborhoods though small portions are zoned for commercial and industrial development. City leaders are using a conservative approach to growth in order to maintain a small-town, park-like flavor. 

The City consists of 8.5 miles of multipurpose trails, bike paths, and sidewalks; a 5.5-acre park with sports field lighting and a tot lot; a 50-acre park with sports field lighting and other amenities; as well as a 7.5-acre Equestrian Center, the 20-acre Doris Davis Forman Wilderness Preserve, and the citizen-constructed, seven-acre Liberty Park containing numerous play areas representing American patriotic themes.
